Mt. Angel, Oregon is a wonderful place to visit! Nestled between farmland and foothills, Mt. Angel is located 18 miles northeast of Salem on Highway 214. This little town, founded in the late 1800s by German settlers, has an Old World flavor which is heightened by the many Bavarian-style storefronts and signage. Mt. Angel celebrates their German heritage each year during the Oktoberfest, one of Oregon's largest festivals. More than 350,000 people attend the four-day festival, which has been held in Mt. Angel for more 50 years. Oktoberfest was also founded by the Mt. Angel Chamber.
The small town of Mt. Angel - population 4,000 – knows how to put on a festival. The Hazelnut Festival and German Holiday Market is built on the chamber of commerce tradition of skilled marketing of events and a large team of volunteers. To learn more about, Mt. Angel visit www.mtangelchamber.org.
